Why Didn’t Coach Izzo Call More Than 1 Timeout During 1st Half of NCAA Championship Game?

Izzo only called one timeout during the first half of tonight’s NCAA championship game vs. UNC. The timeout was called with 6:45 left. By then, the damage was done. Why wasn’t a timeout called during the first 10 minutes of the first half to kill some of UNC’s momentum and try to calm down his young team? TV timeouts don’t count – there needed to be a “disciplinary” timeout EARLY!

I’m almost positive this question will be asked. Press Conference now on ESPN News. Tune in!

[Update: The question wasn’t asked. The press blows. Izzo sort of tried to put out the fire by saying he called a timeout. Yeah, he did. With 6:45 to go in the 1st half (see above) and the Spartans down 20-43. ]

Why People Hate the Far Left

Rachel Maddow ran a segment tonight (featuring Andrew Exum) objecting to the war in Afghanistan/Pakistan.  Add her show to the list of shows I can never watch again.

Unnecessary Reminder Alert: During the Iraq War lead-up, we were told that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction.  Saddam wouldn’t allow UN weapons inspectors into his country because he was a crazy fck .

I don’t think too many Americans would be questioning our involvement in a legitimate war had we worked in conjunction with the UN.  Hindsight is 20/20 and the rest is history – we didn’t work with the international community to find a solution, there were no weapons of mass destruction found, and the result is an entire world in shambles.

Unless you’re a 9/11 conspirator – clickthrough for info on a pretty interesting movie (yes, I bought it awhile back) – there are 2 things that absolutely can’t be debated…

1) Osama bin Laden coordinated an attack in which 4 of our airplanes were used as missiles to kill over 3,000 people on our soil.

2) We cannot stop killing cowards (and unfortunately innocent civilians) in Afghanistan/Pakistan until bin Laden’s worthless body – dead or alive – is hand delivered to our troops.

I don’t care how much this war in Afghanistan/Pakistan costs.  Osama bin Laden must be brought to justice in a timely manner.  If he can’t be located by a legit administration before some soon TBD pull out date, it’s gotta be safe to assume he’s not trolling around in Pakistan/Afghanistan.

So, in my opinion, Rachel is unequivocally wrong.   I guess there’s one less person watching a 60 minute program that continues to run ShamWow commercials featuring a spokesperson that is charged with beating the sh!t out of a prostitute.

Michael Moore Letter – Obama to GM CEO: You’re Fired!

Excellent read!

http://www.michaelmoore.com/words/message/

One of many highlights…

“This bold move has sent the heads of corporate America spinning and spewing pea soup. Obama has issued this edict: The government of, by, and for the people is in charge here, not big business. John McCain got it. On the floor of the Senate he asked, “What does this signal send to other corporations and financial institutions about whether the federal government will fire them as well?” Senator Bob Corker said it “should send a chill through all Americans who believe in free enterprise.” The stock market plunged as the masters of the universe asked themselves, “Am I next?” And they whispered to each other, “What are we going to do about this Obama?”

Not much, fellows. He has the massive will of the American people behind him — and he has been granted permission by us to do what he sees fit. If you liked this week’s all-net 3-pointer, stay tuned.”

Eliminate the R-Word

Now taking blog posting requests!  Honey, this one’s for you…

I used to use the r-word.  Not a lot.  I’d rather call somebody an idiot, stupid, incompetent, george bush, etc.  But, I’d fire off a few r-words from time to time.  All that changed when I met my wife, a special education teacher.

I don’t think people understand how offensive the r-word is.  I surely didn’t.  Just like black babies can’t change the color of their skin, children with disabilities can’t change their genes.   How often do you hear the n-word?  I’ll guess not as often as you hear the r-word.  Why?  They’re equally as offensive.

Yada, yada – below is an article about a group of students fighting the r-word…

Update: Chicago Tribune – seriously?  Look at the above URL.  Well, at least they ran an article.

Microsoft Hotmail: False and Misleading Advertising Part 2

Microsoft Hotmail’s false and misleading advertising part 1:

Well, the geniuses at Microsoft are at it again…

“Now up to 70% faster.”

Seriously.  Prove it.  Of course, I assume Microsoft wasted money handpicking some firm to run some sort of test proving Hotmail could perform up to 70% faster.  Note: up to 70% faster. WTF? From what I’ve experienced, Hotmail seems about 3% (I made up that number like Microsoft made up theirs) faster than it did in 2002.  So, technically Microsoft isn’t misleading since 3% is “up to 70% faster.”  Ugh.

“Now avaialble on your iPhone.”

Hotmail has always been available on an iPhone. Unfortunately, when you set-up your Hotmail email account on your iPhone, it downloads EVERY message in your inbox.  Yes, every message.  I don’t think I’ve ever deleted an email in my Hotmail account.  So, 15,000 emails downloaded.  50 of those emails showed as new.  Figuring I should be able to delete those 50 emails so my iPhone Hotmail inbox would show 0 new messages, I was disappointed to see…

Worthless.  Note: this annoying “bug” doesn’t happen with Gmail.  Why?  Because Google doesn’t put out a shiatty product.

Who Predicted MSU to Reach the Final Four?

From January 3, 2009 when MSU was ranked #15…

https://bcclist.com/2009/01/03/go-right-through-for-msu-part-4/

“Sparty looked really good tonight. It’s the best MSU team I’ve seen since the 2000 team. That’s saying a lot since the 2001 and 2005 teams made the Final Four. Barring injuries, anything less than a Final Four or NCAA Championship would be a major disappointment. Keep in mind that the Final Four is being hosted in Detroit this year. Watch out!”

Sometimes I impress myself.  The National Championship is next!  Well, it’s next after MSU destroys UConn.

P.S. Here’s a link to a review of my Elite 8 picks.  Could be better – could be worse.
