One of the main reasons we should still believe in God – no, God didn’t help your favorite team win a game or your keys magically reappear – is because Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, John Boehner, Sean Hannity, Eric Cantor, Tom Delay, Ann Coulter, Michael Steele, Michelle Bachman, the Tea Parties, Mitt Romney, Glenn Beck, Mike Pence, Bobby Jindal, etc. have become the new face of the outdated republican party. This type of nut job “leadership” will ensure the GOP stays in the vast minority for a long, long time.

If the republicans want a shot of taking back the White House and/or having any sort of say in Congress, they’re going to have to act somewhat sane again like Ronald Reagan or George H.W. Bush.

Charlie Crist (popular Florida governor considering a run for US Senate) and Tim Pawlenty (popular Minnesota governor) can help regain legitimacy within the party and give Obama a run for his money in 2012.   Crist is a little too flamboyant/tan.  There are rumors he is gay though he recently got married.  This said, Crist wouldn’t be the best on top of the ticket in 2012 but would make a fine VP candidate.  Pawlenty is money – well, comparatively speaking to the rest of the GOP.

So, I now own – www.pawlentycrist.com.  “Inquiries” can be sent to: bcclistblog@gmail.com.  Serious inquiries only because the SOLE reason I registered this domain name – google “Taubman Sucks” – is that I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY like Pawlenty and Crist as politicians.  Hahahahah!

Side Note: http://www.pawlenty(enteranothercandidatesname).com and http://www.crist(enteranothercandidatesname).com – for the most part – are completely sold out.  Why would my two favorite politicians (ha) and the only sane choice for the GOP in 2012 – pawlentycrist.com – still be available?  Awesome.

Joe Biden Warns Against Going Anywhere in Confined Places: NBC Today Show

The swine flu outbreak is making Joe a little crazier than he already is.

Specifically, I think I just heard Vice President Joe Biden said HE wouldn’t travel on airplanes or subways. And, at the end of the comment, I think he mentioned something about avoiding closed classrooms.  Video to come. WTF?

I love you Joe. But, you’re not a Senator from Delaware anymore. Stay on course, buddy!

Update 1: 2:36 mark…

Update 2: The Vice President’s office says he was talking about travel, confined places, etc. in Mexico.  Clarity is next to godliness.  Can we keep Biden off the Today Show until 2013?

Update 3: Just watched the clip again.  I wonder when the chatter will begin regarding Hillary Clinton (or equivalent but she makes the most sense) and Joe Biden swapping roles for the 2012 election.

Who Advertises to Rush Limbaugh Listeners?

Serious question.

I can’t imagine listening to his program (play clip below – the part about Mexico) but somebody does. And, somebody advertises to those listeners so that he can feed his face and keep the power on. But, what companies are targeting the “sheep” demographic? What company wants to be associated/branded with a lunatic?

My only guess is cash for gold companies and/or forex trading brokers. Anyone listen to Rush? What ads do you hear?

PREVIEW: 2009 NFL Draft – Day 2

I’ve intently tuned into the NFL Draft for way too many years.  Maybe like 10 years.  I’m not joking.  And, I’ll usually watch both days.  Over the last 10 years, I’ve never seen a less anticipated Day 1 and there’s definitely not been a weaker #1 draft pick than Matt Stafford.  Well, maybe Courtney Brown was as lame as Stafford.  Anywho – what does this mean?

Day 2 is overly important.  There’s UNDOUBTEDLY some talent left in the 3 interesting to scout for positions – RB, QB, and WR.  In no particular order, here’s who I like in each position.

Running Backs

1) Cedric Peerman

2) Rashad Jennings

3) Ian Johnson

4) Javon Ringer

5) Andre Brown

Shonn Greene is ranked sort of high.   He’ll end up being a better back than Andre Brown.  But, there’s something about Greene that is unsettling and it’s not that his first/last name are spelled weird or that he’s leaving a decent Iowa team early – ha. So, the above (and below) aren’t the best players in each position – but, rather, players I think should earn some extra consideration.

Quarterbacks

1) Stephen McGee

2) Rhett Bomar

3) Cullen Harper

Wide Receivers

1) Ramses Barden

2) Austin Collie

3) Demetrius Byrd

4) Aaron Kelly

5) Mike Wallace

Michelle Obama Calls Bo “A Crazy Dog”

Oh no, why does this immediately make me want to get another dog?  PetFinder.com here I come…

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/23/michelle-obama-bo-is-a-cr_n_190618.html

“It was like 10 o’clock. Everybody was asleep and we hear all this barking and jumping around,” Mrs. Obama said. “The president and I came out and we thought somebody was out there. And it was just Bo. He was playing with his ball. And it was like there was another person in the house.

“He’s kind of crazy, but he’s still a puppy. So he likes to play a lot,” she said.

The dog, unveiled last week after months of speculation, was a gift to Obama daughters Malia and Sasha.

“He loves to chew on people’s feet,” Mrs. Obama divulged to more than 100 children invited to a program marking the annual Take Your Child to Work Day.

jim demint – Buyer’s Remorse Comment

Ha – this is great….

http://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/demint_obama_healthcare/2009/04/21/205685.html

jim, seriously, are you crazy?  Ah, why did I ask – the answer is overly apparent.  It’s going to take awhile (if even possible) to clean up the gop.  Here’s another failed attempt…

“After Obama led this emotional swoon across the country during his election, where thousands came out for hope and change, which I think many believe — they have a little buyer’s remorse. The swoon is over and more and more people are taking to their feet and they’re speaking out.

“They don’t want to see America go in the direction of socialized Europe. More and more Americans are concerned that this new administration is intent on socializing a larger and larger area of our economy. And I’m concerned that the Obama administration and anyone in it would say that speaking out, taking advantage of our freedom of speech, is a bad thing.”
