President Obama is Weak – The gop’s Newest Strategy

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/04/20/cheney-i-dont-think-weve-got-much-to-apologize-for/

Well, it was only a matter of time before the gop would play the “President Obama is making the United States seem weak” card.  Of course this sounds bad, but, the only thing that can save this crumbling political party is a terrorist attack.  I can see it now – “See, we told you so…”

Side note: When is Cheney going to realize he’s a former VICE PRESIDENT and not a former political pundit?

Entenmann’s Softees – Somebody Needs to be Fired

I went to the store solely on a mission to find a snack and nearly picked up a 12 pack of doughnuts.  Then I read the box, looked down, and wondered if I needed to be any softer.  The only branding that could have been worse would be Entenmann’s Fat Ass Doughnuts.  Yeah, yeah – I know Entenmann’s is trying to convince the consumer their doughnuts are soft.  FAIL!

Are companies – e.g. Tropicana’s nightmare generic brand looking packaging  – no longer using focus groups?!?!?!?  I’m for hire.  Well, part-time hire.

Thoughts of the Week – Fake Pirate Killings and American Water Boarding Campaign

Like the pictures of Uday and Qusay Hussein’s dead bodies, I wonder if the government will release pictures of the killed pirates.

Regardless, if I were the pirates, I would have negotiated a fake pirate killing scenario in return of the Maersk Alabama’s captain.  Or,  maybe pull off the fake killings and offer the youngest for prosecution since it will be difficult for the US Justice Department to be overly harsh with a 16 year old.  There’s no way we spared the pirates’ lives, announce that the pirates were killed by snipers, and then slap the 16 year old on the wrist, right?  No way…

Also, I wonder why “terrorists” don’t start kidnapping and water boarding Americans.  Such a videotape would be more effective than the same old beheadings.  Fortunately, kidnappings have decreased significantly over the past 5ish years.

Random Increase in Blog Traffic

It looks like if I put less work/current event stalking into BccList.com because I’m swamped, the blog’s traffic remarkably increases.  Monday = 160 ish visitors.  Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday = 240+ visitors a day.

Is a 3 day traffic spike – compared to previous 3 days – a good or bad thing since only horribly boring content has been added over the last 72+ hours? Errrr….

BccList.com Keeps Getting Lamer and Lamer

There’s nothing to talk about – again – other than Barry bowing to a king.  But, that’s a good thing!  Thank god we have a real president.

Question:  Which new political party is going to spring up and replace the gop?  Some party absolutely must keep the dems in check or things could get out of control.  But, unlike the gop, this new party can’t have outdated values revolving around the following:

  • Guns
  • Religion
  • Tax cuts for corporations and/or the wealthy

Side note:  I watched hannity for the first time last night.  It was really surreal.  His followers have to be the same people that were scared of microwaves and computers when they rose to consumer fame.  But, for the time being, I guess there’s still a following.  These whack jobs are so weird…

Another Reason I Love Digg – They Admit (and then fix) Faults

As seen here…

http://blog.digg.com/?p=653

“An apology is due – until today, Digg’s search has been pretty terrible. I’m really excited to announce that our search no longer sucks. In fact, I think it’s awfully good but you should try it out and judge for yourself.

Our primary focus is to give you the best possible stories at the top of the results right away. The first thing you’ll notice is an improved user interface but don’t let that fool you, there are significant improvements under the hood. We weight searches on a number of factors including timeliness, Digg counts, keywords, and others.”

Why Didn’t Coach Izzo Call More Than 1 Timeout During 1st Half of NCAA Championship Game?

Izzo only called one timeout during the first half of tonight’s NCAA championship game vs. UNC. The timeout was called with 6:45 left. By then, the damage was done. Why wasn’t a timeout called during the first 10 minutes of the first half to kill some of UNC’s momentum and try to calm down his young team? TV timeouts don’t count – there needed to be a “disciplinary” timeout EARLY!

I’m almost positive this question will be asked. Press Conference now on ESPN News. Tune in!

[Update: The question wasn’t asked. The press blows. Izzo sort of tried to put out the fire by saying he called a timeout. Yeah, he did. With 6:45 to go in the 1st half (see above) and the Spartans down 20-43. ]
