Democrats Concerned? The Answer is No…

But, you would think so if you’re a Drudge visitor.

I didn’t click through the “Democrats Now Think Obama is the Antichrist” stories from yesterday or the day before, but, I finally clicked through this morning to the following:

http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/6c2f69ce-8031-11dd-99a9-000077b07658.html

“If people are voting for McCain it could help Republicans all the way down the ticket, even in a year when the Democrats should be sweeping all before us,” said the fundraiser, a former Hillary Clinton supporter.

“There is a growing sense of doom among Democrats I have spoken to . . . People are going crazy, telling the campaign ‘you’ve got to do something’.”

Concern was greatest among first-term representatives who won seats in traditionally Republican districts in the landslide of 2006. “Several of them face a real fight to hold on to those seats,” the fundraiser said.

Tony Podesta, a senior Democratic lobbyist, said members of Congress were “a little nervous” after Mr McCain shook up the race with his choice of Sarah Palin as running mate and intensified attacks on Mr Obama.

“Republicans have been on the offensive for the past two weeks . . . You don’t win elections on the defensive.”

So, a Hillary supporter, first time representatives, and a lobbyist equal the entire Democratic Party. Huh?

The only time Democrats should have been concerned about the state of the party was after Obama won Iowa and was on pace to win New Hampshire by 10%+. As presumably scripted a few days before the vote, Hillary cries in a lame attempt to show her “true side” and ends up winning by 3%. Unlike what I pleaded for in my failed op-ed, the Obama campaign decided to not go on the attack after the loss. Thankfully, he somehow managed to pull of the primary.

Panicked Democrats – if such a thing exists – chill the fck out. The general election will be a landslide as originally seen on BccList.com here

Roger Ebert on sarah palin – The American Idol Candidate

http://www.suntimes.com/news/otherviews/1156080,091008ebertpalin.article

So, every awkward mccain/palin supporter will spout off about how this is just another celebrity for Obama.  Reality check – EVERYONE is thinking what Matt Damon (video here) and Roger Ebert are saying but we obviously don’t have the avenue to get the message out to the masses.  I wouldn’t be so quick to discredit celebrities – especially when they have a point…

Excerpt:

“I think I might be able to explain some of Sarah Palin’s appeal. She’s the “American Idol” candidate. Consider. What defines an “American Idol” finalist? They’re good-looking, work well on television, have a sunny personality, are fierce competitors, and so talented, why, they’re darned near the real thing.

I don’t want a vice president who is darned near good enough. I want a vice president who is better, wiser, well-traveled, has met world leaders, who three months ago had an opinion on Iraq. Someone who doesn’t repeat bald- faced lies about earmarks and the Bridge to Nowhere. Someone who doesn’t appoint Alaskan politicians to “study” global warming, because, hello! It has been studied. The returns are convincing enough that John McCain and Barack Obama are darned near in agreement.

I would also want someone who didn’t make a teeny little sneer when referring to “people who go to the Ivy League.” When I was a teen I dreamed of going to Harvard, but my dad, an electrician, told me, “Boy, we don’t have the money. Thank your lucky stars you were born in Urbana and can go to the University of Illinois right here in town.” So I did, very happily. Although Palin gets laughs when she mentions the “elite” Ivy League, she sure did attend the heck out of college.

And how can a politician her age have never have gone to Europe? My dad had died, my mom was working as a book-keeper and I had a job at the local newspaper when, at 19, I scraped together $240 for a charter flight to Europe. I had Arthur Frommer’s $5 a Day under my arm, started in London, even rented a Vespa and drove in the traffic of Rome. A few years later, I was able to send my mom, along with the $15 a Day book.

You don’t need to be a pointy-headed elitist to travel abroad. You need curiosity and a hunger to see the world. What kind of a person (who has the money) arrives at the age of 44 and has only been out of the country once, on an official tour to Iraq? Sarah Palin’s travel record is that of a provincial, not someone who is equipped to deal with global issues.

I trust the American people will see through Palin, and save the Republic in November.”

palin Sh!ts the Bed – Charles Gibson Interview

I held out as long as I could on watching the interview – the thought of hearing her voice (ever) again sent chills down my spine. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised to see her do so horrible when I finally clicked on the link this morning – it was taunting me on Facebook. In fact, I don’t think you can do much worse especially knowing that all of those questions and answers – in detail – have been practiced over the past few weeks.

She seemed a little defensive, eh? Maybe even not qualified? Hmmm.  Oh yeah – here’s that bush Doctrine cheat sheet they failed to look over when studying…

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_Doctrine

I’m shocked as hell Charlie actually asked some of the questions. Unbelievable.

Amy, thank you.

P.S. I will puke if the mccain campaign’s new rally cry is “Look, she interviews so poorly because she’s just like every other American. You surely can understand – given the media spotlight – that somebody would do as horribly as she did. In fact, this proves she’ll shake up Washingon even more.”

Matt Damon Condems Sarah Palin – Spot On

As originally seen here, perhaps Matt is a BccList.com reader…

Stating the obvious, the highlight begins around the 1:20 mark…

“I need to know if she really thinks dinosaurs were here 4,000 years ago. That’s important. I want to know that, I really do. Because she’s going to have the nuclear codes. I want to know if she thinks dinosaurs were here 4,000 years ago. Or if she banned books or tried to ban books. I mean, we can’t have that.”

Breaking Down the gop – 3 R’s

The following breakdown is common knowledge, but, I need to vent. There are only 3 types of republican supporter. God forbid you’re a republican – which type are you?

1) The Racist. Also known as the inbred. This supporter forgets that our country is known as the melting pot. They are still stuck in either the late 1700s and/or modern day communities in the deep south/plain states. They can’t grasp that the civil war/slavery ended a long time ago. There’s probably a confederate flag, gun, and/or cross ready to burn lying around the house. They definitely lock the car door when driving even 45 mph past a person of color. You will never find them on public transportation – especially, a bus. Fortunately, these votes don’t really matter given their geographic location.

2) The Religious. Also known as sarah palin. Creepy as hell and VERY gullible. In sarah’s case, they belong to a church that speaks in tongues, prays for pipelines, and believes that the Iraq war is a holy war – a.k.a. jihad. Unfortunately, their votes matter because religious people show up in masses and aren’t solely found in south/plain states. W.W.J.D.? I can guarantee you he wouldn’t vote for a republican. They need to wake up since no matter how they vote, Roe vs. Wade isn’t getting overturned. If it miraculously does get overturned within the next 20 years – unlikely – women will still go to New York, California, Illinois, or 20 other states to have an abortion. They are getting played HARDCORE by the 3rd type – the Rich.

3) The Rich. Also known as the mccain family. They successfully recruit the religious vote by insinuating that god will have you burn in hell if you don’t try to overturn Roe vs. Wade. But, I’ll give credit when credit is due – you smart bastards. Rich as hell. Top 10% or so of all money earned. The only ones truly “impacted” by a Democratic president. They are sort of annoyed that they have to act like they agree with the religious, but, the rich are too small of a cross section to influence an election so a person has to do what a person has to do. Bright, cunning, elitist, and soulless enough to further misinform the other two types of republicans that a Democrat will tax you. When Democratic opponents point out the fact that only those making over $250,000 could see an increase in taxes, the rich look the other way and hope nobody catches on. They also love to say a big government is bad as they take a daily swim or two in their stockpile of money.

Bottom line: The rich are rich for a reason – fast talking, intelligent, and willing to sell their soul to the devil. They literally own the republican party. The religious are the puppies but most impactful group of voters – doing what they’re told by the rich because they’re afraid of something (god) they hope exists. The racist are living in a fairy tale world and plotting how they can form a coalition of muzzleloaders and secede.

Ah, that felt good. Back to work – great lunch break!

We’re only as competent as the political leaders we elect.

Video – meghan mccain on The Today Show – “No one knows what war is like other than my family. Period.”

Oh no – exploit a daughter for political gain by setting up a tour of the media circuit and look what happens…

Meg sure does talk with a lot of authority for a 24/25 year old – hahahahahahahah. Nice try at a retraction…

http://www.mccainblogette.com/postings/090908_1856.shtml

“I want to clarify my comments about my family “understanding war unlike any other”. My family understands the demands of war, in reference to our family’s generations of service to the nation, including that of my grandfather, father and brothers. But obviously, there are many American families that have made, and are making, the ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of defending freedom. And those families and those sacrifices should be honored above all else. I regret my comments as they were delivered. I certainly did not mean to diminish the sobering fact of these families’ sacrifices in any way.”

Countdown with Keith Olbermann, thank you.

P.S.  The “tactic” of saying the word “obvious” every 3rd word and rolling your eyes to show you’re thinking when stating something you obviously know are soooooo 2005.  I assume meghan mccain loves The Apprentice.

A Rally Cry for White Women

http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUSN097920080909

“Before the Democratic National Convention in late August, Obama held an 8 percentage point lead among white women voters, 50 percent to 42 percent, but after the Republican convention in early September, McCain was ahead by 12 points among white women, 53 percent to 41 percent, the poll found.”

Let’s go – I assume you don’t want to be labeled as the cross section of America that ruins our country for another 4 years!
