Spit String on Ben Bernanke’s Lips – 60 Minutes Interview with Scott Pelley

Get the man a glass of water, handkerchief , or don’t ask him to talk for long periods of time.  Gross!  I only noticed the spit once.  See screenshot below.  It was evident throughout this 45 second comment…

“Let me give you an analogy, if I might.  If you have a neighbor, who smokes in bed. And he’s a risk to everybody. If suppose he sets fire to his house, and you might say to yourself, you know, ‘I’m not gonna call the fire department. Let his house burn down. It’s fine with me.’ But then, of course, but what if your house is made of wood? And it’s right next door to his house? What if the whole town is made of wood? Well, I think we’d all agree that the right thing to do is put out that fire first, and then say, ‘What punishment is appropriate? How should we change the fire code? What needs to be done to make sure this doesn’t happen in the future? How can we fire proof our houses?’ That’s where we are now. We have a fire going on.”

My AT&T Needs in Chicago vs. Areas with Horrible Reception

AT&T service in Chicago is not good.  As I’ve noted on BccList.com and Twitter, the iPhone would would rule the cellphone world if it wasn’t for AT&T.

So, I don’t drive much.  In fact, if I put 10 miles a month on our car, I would be shocked.  I take either the train or bus nearly everywhere I can.  The area I commonly need AT&T service is highlighted green.  The areas that I have limited or no service in are highlighted red – including my walk home and our actual house.  Thank goodness for wifi!

Less bars in more areas.  Ouch!

“If Only iPhone OS 3.0 Had These Very Cool Things!” BRIAN LAM AT GIZMODO NEEDS TO JAILBREAK!

http://i.gizmodo.com/5169081/unicorn-wishes-if-only-iphone-os-30-had-these-very-cool-things

It seems that Brian Lam at Gizmodo awkwardly loves the Palm Pre.   Below are his iPhone wishes for the soon to be released OS 3.0.  I’ve noted those wishes that currently exist on a standard iPhone.  Moreover, I crossed out the wishes that could be resolved by jailbreaking an iPhone…

CUUUUUUUUUUT AND PASSSSSSSSSSSTEEEEEEEE!!!

jailbreak

Multitasking gestures, like the Palm Pre

huh?

Background app running, like the Palm Pre

jailbreak

App store submission fees, or some way to limit app store spam, like Microsoft’s planned app store

huh?

MMS – I don’t care about this, really, but you might

nobody cares about MMS.  when an iPhone user gets a text picture mail, it can be accessed by following a simple link.  rather than send a picture text, iPhone users simply send the picture as an email.

Video recording

jailbreak

Voice dialing and text-to-speech caller ID

there’s an legal App Store app for this.

Better software support for phone-related stuff, like optionally adding “Favorites” or “Recents” to home screen (and improved voice quality if possible)

this is a pretty easy thing to do even on a non jailbroken iPhone.

Bluetooth stereo streaming, like the Palm Pre

huh?

Bluetooth file transfer and storage

huh?

Bluetooth/Wi-fi sync, like the Zune

huh?

iLife and iWork Mobile for editing docs and multimedia on the phone itself

editing docs – I’m not sure.  editing multimedia – there are plenty of Apps available for this.

SPEED – The OS gets really sluggish after using it for awhile

huh?

A completely new or refreshed UI – There’s something to be said for meaningless but thoughtful design refreshes

huh?

Big keyboard support and bulk delete in every app

get a bigger keyboard by jailbreaking.  bulk delete – huh?

Flash support in browser

ok, this would be cool.

iTunes app management

there’s an iTunes App.

Popups and notifications that don’t interrupt your current activity, like the Palm Pre

huh?

It’s my opinion the only thing the iPhone is missing once jailbroken is a good wireless carrier, flash supported browser, and a flash camera.

TEXT MESSAGE: Kwame Kilpatrick Sold Weed in College

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090311/METRO01/903110384

OK, I SOLD WEED IN COLLEGE!”

Wow, what a bada$$.  Didn’t everyone?  Ha!

God, some of this is too good to believe.  Such as…

Often, though, they can just be quizzical: Can someone who helps run a city that borders Canada not know where Montreal is? After Kilpatrick suggests a rendezvous there in December 2003, Beatty asks him: “WHERE IS THAT?” Luckily, she has an idea: “IN CANADA?” He confirms it: “Lol. Yes Canada.”

Original blog posting:

As long as this is real, there’s no cap on how high this auction could go.  The buyer will make major profits in the future.

More Americans Say They Have No Religion – David Wilkerson is a Douche

I wonder why…

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=91097

“Wilkerson’s vision is of fires raging through New York City.

“It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires – such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago,” he explains. “There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting – including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. In Psalm 11 it is written, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
