Romney’s Stock Falls – gop Veep Stakes

Looks like tim pawlenty and tom ridge just turned into the front-runners for the meaningless gop veep stakes since the mccain camp ran the following:

The above ad plus mccain not knowing how many houses his family owns, makes romney looking in from the outside since mccain and romney have a few intense debate clips of their own and the romney family has slightly more than 1 house.

  1. Despite the Dems and the allied main stream media’s desperation to see Romney as McCain’s Veep, Mitt is clearly out, with (1) Obama doubling down on the class warfare theme (McCain’s 7 houses) and (2) McCain doubling down with ads showing the hypocrisy of Biden attacking Obama in the primaries — Romney did way more than that contra McCain.

This leaves only Govs Sarah Palin and Tim Pawlenty. Pro-abortion Ridge and Dem-Lieberman were never real considerations, despite relentless media goading. Pawlenty’s lackluster TV performances, coupled with Palin pizzazz, the primacy of oil drilling and the ticked off women/Hillary voters, does now portend a McCain/Palin checkmate on the Dems. This is so albeit the Dems and liberal media dare not mention Palin’s name, that is, everyone but…..

And if there’s any question as to Palin being uniquely positioned and able to more than nullify Biden in debate, see the excellent discussion at

    Team McCain, well done!!!

  2. I hope everyone agrees – even the liberal media – that mccain’s pick doesn’t matter. pawlenty would add the most to the ticket. Going back to a previous assertion, how does palin help the ticket?

Assuming the nearly impossible happens and mccain wins the general election, he’s going to pass during the first four years. Is an inexperienced Governor from Alaska what we need? The only women votes she will pull (pro life) would have voted for mccain anyways. Alaska and her birth state of Idaho obviously aren’t toss up state.

A palin selection doesn’t make much sense to me…

  3. I agree…it should be Romney, a pro life guy. The Republicans HAVE to have a pro life conservative in order to carry the Republican vote, otherwise some will scatter and will cost the election I am fearful. However: Biden increases our odds considerably! Thank you Barack Hussein Obama for your pick.

  4. Is romney a pro life guy? He changed positions a few times on this and other “important issues” whenever was convenient, eh? I just looked up snake-oil salesman on Wikipedia and pictured was mitt romney. I’m not sure his elitism, hairdo, and willingness to change position on important issues is how mccain will get votes.

P.S. Given Obama’s polling lead in Michigan and failures the state has seen over the last 8 years, mitt romney will not pull Michigan like Biden will pull Pennsylvania. Having lived in Michigan for a decent percentage of my life, nobody cares about mitt’s father george romney.
