Sure … the U.S. should continue to. But BRITISH Petroleum should not. British Petroleum should be seized and liquidated. Their profitable productive well rights should be auctioned to other, more responsible, companies. That money from the tremendous auction revenue should be split: 2/3rds to go to Gulf recovery; 1/3rd to go to a new non-profit whose sole purpose is to minimize our dependence upon oil as an energy source.
I should mention that BP engaged in kidnapping. Any company that engages in kidnapping as part of its operations is subject to total seizure and sale under U.S. RICO laws.

Nice – thanks for the comments. You can’t tell me Shell, Citgo, Exxon Mobil, etc. have much higher integrity. This is a fcked up industry that needs to be turned upside down.
