Thank god there’s finally something to talk about again.
Unfortunately, there’s officially no other reason to attend Lollapalooza 2009.
Get well soon MCA…
Time Out, thank you.
P.S. Ok, I would pay money to see Of Montreal and Ben Folds. Worth noting: I’m a Snoop Dogg fan but I’ve seen him solo and it’s a nightmare. The Up in Smoke Tour – when he wasn’t solo – was unbelieveable. Regardless, compared to the 2008 lineup, this year’s show is DEPRESSING.
You’re being depressing! This year’s lineup is solid.
you would like ben fold’s, everybody loves songs about abortions. Gayest band ever, should be theme music for this site.
Saw Ben Folds (and Rufus Wainwright) play in Ravinia and it was a good show. So, I’d pay to see him again but ONLY if he cuts the abortion song from his set. ?!?
Booo! I guess there’s no way to top (or, in 2009’s case even come close to topping) the following from 2008…
Radiohead
Rage Against the Machine
Nine Inch Nails
Kanye West
Wilco
The Raconteurs
Gnarls Barkley
Bloc Party
The Black Keys
Lupe Fiasco
Flogging Molly
G. Love & Special Sauce
Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks
The Cool Kids
The Whigs
Wait — is this coming from a guy who doesn’t like “new bands”? HA!
It’s not that I don’t like new bands – I don’t like shitty bands. Ha!
I was going to tweet about this on the way home but forgot….
The best thing about country music is that it’s all the EXACT same. That’s great – at least there’s some sort of consistency. I’m not a fan of country music, but, you can go to a country music concert for 10 hours and basically hear the same shit over and over again but still enjoy yourself.
The same can’t be said for rock & roll. I wish “rock & roll” would become legitimate again. It sucks ass.
Ok, that wasn’t 140 characters.
Or, more likely, maybe I’m not into the music scene enough like somebody I know that should be working for Rolling Stone or Pitchfork. š What upcoming show for a new band do you suggest?
P.S. I have something to confess – I went to Country Thunder USA a few years back. It was a sight but a decent time. No, it wasn’t a dare.
